"Be it done to me according to thy word."
Luke 1:38
St. Mary’s Catholic School assists families in the formation of their children as disciples of Jesus Christ and His Kingdom through faith, scholarship, leadership, and service.
In every grade level, our Catholic identity is expressed through:
Integration of Catholic Identity Across the Curriculum
Catholic teaching is integrated into all subject areas — not only religion and theology. Catholic standards are incorporated into lesson plans across all grade levels.
Daily Prayer as a School Community
We pray together each day — in the morning, before and after lunch, and at the end of the school day.
Blessed Classrooms
Every classroom has an altar and a crucifix and is blessed by Fr. Dower or Deacon Jim at the beginning of the school year. Students also receive a special blessing at that time.
All-School Mass
We celebrate All-School Mass on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Holy Days of Obligation, and select Marian feast days. Students in grades 3–12 serve as altar servers, lectors, Eucharistic ministers, and choir members. Families are welcome and encouraged to attend.
Devotion to Our Lady
Students receive a rosary at the beginning of the year to use throughout the school year. School-wide rosaries are prayed several times annually, including a Living Rosary in October.
Virtue of the Week
A weekly virtue guides students in making faithful daily decisions and choices.
Reconciliation
The Sacrament of Reconciliation is offered to Catholic students in grades 2–12 at least twice a year — during Advent and Lent.
Eucharistic Adoration
Time before the Blessed Sacrament is available to students and staff on Mondays at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Sacred Art on Campus
Artwork throughout our campus reflects religious events and holy men and women who inspire our faith.
Stations of the Cross
Students attend Stations of the Cross every Friday during Lent, led by our school chaplain, in preparation for Easter.
Living Stations
On Holy Thursday, all students attend the Living Stations of the Cross, performed by our 8th-grade class.
Friday Observances
During Lent, we do not serve meat on Fridays. A non-meat option is available on all Fridays throughout the year.
Advent Traditions
Special Advent prayers begin each day during the season of Advent, including the lighting of Advent candles in every classroom.
